Conversation Partner Program
The LRC's Conversation Partner Program provides students (both Grad and Undergrad) the opportunity to meet with a student peer-mentor to practice conversation in English and build campus connections. This program is geared towards English Language Learning students and/or International Students who may want to practice speaking in a conversational setting outside of class. It's also a great way to learn more about campus culture, events, and gallery spaces!
Students can sign up for an initial meeting to talk to a coach. During the initial meeting, students can decide if they want to sign-up for a weekly practice session for the number of weeks they think they might need. No homework or assignments needed to participate. Coaches are trained on interesting topics and conversation strategies. Exploring campus together is encouraged after initial consultation and conversation. Additional, meetings help build speaking skills are strongly encouraged.
Students can sign up with a friend or individually. Available coaches are listed below. When signing up, please list CONVERSATION PARTNER APPOINTMENT" in the What do you need help with? section of the form. If signing up with a friend, please make a note on the booking form that there will be two of you and include everyone's names in the "What do you need help with?" section.
