Submit an Absence Request

Last updated on Sep 23, 2025

1 Run the Request Absence task

Run the Request Absence task, or on the Global Navigation Menu (on the left side of the window), you can go to Personal > Time Management Hub > Request Absence.

The Request Absence Calendar window will pop up. You can perform various tasks and view your different time off balances.

2 Check Time Off Balances

Check your time off balance by clicking on the View Balances link to make sure you have accrued enough hours/days for your request.

  • Only salaried (exempt) employees can project future time off balances.

3 Select Your Absence Dates

You can choose your absence date(s) by clicking on the calendar dates, or click on Date Range and type in your dates.

If needed, check to make sure your time off doesn’t overlap with other team members’ time off by clicking on the View Teams link, then click Continue.

4 Select the Absence Type

Click the Type of Absence dropdown, then select the type of time off you are requesting.

  • Be sure to read the definitions/policies for types of absences. You can only submit one type of time off per request, but you’ll be able to edit individual days in a later step.
  • For Unpaid Time Off (salaried/exempt employees only), select the available Reason from the picklist and provide a brief explanation in the Comment field.

5 Enter Daily Hours and Edit Individual Days

In the Hours (Daily) field, enter the number of work hours being taken off per day.

  • The same Hours (Daily) is applied to all days included in the request, unless you click Edit Individual Days (see below steps for more information).
  • This field defaults to 7.5 hours (a full work day in accordance with CCA’s normal business hours), but you may need to change it according to your expected daily working hours.
  • To Edit Individual Days, scroll down to the list of days you would like to update. You can change the Absence Type and Hours (Daily) for each day.

6 Submit Your Request

Click Submit Request.

7 Check Request Status

You can check on the status of a submitted time off request using the My Time Off report.

  • The resulting table shows submitted requests. Check the Status column to see if the time off has been Approved or if your request is still in progress.
  • This screen only shows you time off requests for one position. Pay attention to the Manager listed on the screen if you hold more than one position.
